06 · The founder
Founder-led. Operator-run.
Kotoh Labs is led by Ian Schechter. He founded a national telehealth company and designed and led the build of its entire platform, and before that launched, ran and sold three consumer brands. You work with him directly from the first call through launch and support, with no account managers or hand-offs. Email is answered by the founder within one business day.
Questions
Is AI writing the code?
Yes, much of it. AI does engineering volume such as implementation, tests and documentation. Humans hold named gates: security, architecture, and anything touching money or patient data. Every release records who approved what, and when.
We are regulated. Can you work with our data?
Our founder built and operates a telehealth platform built to HIPAA requirements with BAAs in place. Data access is scoped at the start, and many builds need no production data at all.
Do you build websites, or only software?
Both. We design and rebuild websites for nonprofits, public agencies and growing businesses, and we build custom software and AI workflow automation for operations teams.
What if the pilot misses?
A pilot is built against a specification you approve. If the deployed system does not meet it, you do not pay the final milestone. The specification exists so "done" is not a matter of opinion.
Why not an agency, or a full-time hire?
An agency sells hours and a hire takes months to find and manage. We sell a deployed system or a launched site with a price and a date, and you work directly with the founder.
